Our Team

Kevin Riddell TEP

Founder/President

The key to planning, both business and personal, is the ability to expect, survive and thrive through the unexpected.

Kevin Riddell is a founding partner of Wise Riddell Financial Group, and after a lifelong career in financial services and wealth management, is now planning for his own succession. Kevin is working towards a transition of the business into the capable hands of his team at Wise Riddell. Kevin is thrilled about the talented, young individuals brought on board whom show passion for growing the business at Wise Riddell. He believes it is of utmost importance to keep the “success” in succession.

Kevin began his career in 1981 in the insurance industry and co-founded Wise Riddell in the late 1980s. In the beginning, Wise Riddell was an independent Managing General Agency (MGA), able to write and process business for a broad number of insurance companies. However, in working with physicians, Kevin realized that their unique needs simply weren’t being serviced. With our clients, every decision must be made in context of their entire portfolio: their goals, the structure of their own corporations, their tax strategies, retirement plans and estates wishes.

Over the past 31 years Kevin has earned recognition as an innovator in the insurance industry, but also Kevin’s realization that he can’t do this all on his own. Wise Riddell was created out of a desire to provide clients with an integrated planning approach – bringing together a team of experience to bear on every client’s situation. Kevin has a lot of experience in insurance, and wanted that same level of service on the investment side. In 2001, Mark joined us as a partner, bringing that much needed expertise to the company.

Kevin is an active member of the Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Canadian Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies and Managers Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors of Canada.

Kevin and his wife Charlotte live in Oakville and live to travel. When he’s not living out his dreams of riding his motorcycle, shredding the back country, or teeing off, Kevin enjoys winding down at the family cottage.

Born in Zimbabwe and raised in Timmins, Ontario, Mark has been instilled with passion for both travel and the outdoors. David Corbeth, BA

Corporate Benefits Specialist

David Corbeth's connections to Wise Riddell Financial Group are both corporate and personal. He started out in the insurance sector in 1987 and by 1992 was leasing office space with Wise Riddell. Over the years he developed a strong affinity for the members of Wise Riddell, leading him to switch from being an affiliate to become a full-fledged member of the team. Specializing in group insurance and executive compensation coverage for corporate clients, David takes a unique and holistic approach. Each client is different in terms of what they want for their employees and how to apply the appropriate accounting method for them. David’s job is to find the perfect equation between the insurance company and their requirements. It’s no cookie cutter approach, and the insurance companies themselves are also often changing up their “flavours”. This requires a good grasp of what to offer and what might be changing in the near future.

David and his wife live in Oakville, where he makes use of the community’s natural amenities whenever possible. In his free time, David enjoys the solitude of running and, over the last few years, has passionately engaged with stand-up paddle boarding.

In addition to life insurance, Mathew is responsible for company marketing and new client acquisition.
